The Los Angeles prosecutor yesterday official charged hip hop notable, rapper Snoop Dogg (aka Calvin Broadus) with felony gun and drug charges.

The hip hop notable is charged with gun transportation by a felon and sale or transportation of marijuana. This all came about when Snoop Dogg was arrested by the Burbank Police Dept. at Bob Hope Airport in Burbank, late in October on suspicion of transportation of a controlled substance, and then authorities later discovered a gun at the hip hop artists’ residence during a search.

The AP reports that Snoop is scheduled to be arraigned on the charges today (Wednesday April 11th) in a Pasadena courtroom.

The attorney for the hip hop artist, Donald Etra, told the AP "The matter will be resolved."

If convicted, hip hop may have to do without the rapper for up to four years. (If convicted on all counts Snoop could receive four years in a California prison.)

The manager for the hip hop artist, Constance Schwartz, said a written statement would appear on the subject later today (April 11.)
