Bay Area Leading Hip Hop Event Ends Early Print

The Bay Areas leading hip hop showcase event the Bay Area Rap Scene (BARS) Awards, which were held yesterday; ended early as unruly crowds, several fights and mounting unrest prompted organizers to end the award show early according to Police Officials.

The Bay Area Rap Scene (BARS) Awards, which included hip hop performances from some of the Bays best hip hop and rap talent was held at the San Mateo Expo Center. This leading Bay Area hip hop showcase was scheduled to last from 3pm till 9pm.

According to San Mateo police Capt. Kevin Raffaelli uninvited guests climbed on stage and out-of-control audience members near the stage put the safety of the hip hop and rap performers and guests at risk.

After several fights broke out, Bay Area Rap Scene (BARS) Awards event security, and police where called in about 7:30pm to help defuse the situation. Bay Area Rap Scene (BARS) Awards promoters decided to end the hip hop event early, according to San Mateo police Capt. Kevin Raffaelli.

The event is a good thing for the Bay Area and the West coast hip hop and rap scene, now the real question is who is really holding the West coast back?
