MUSIC TALKS SESSIONS launches what is the first off-line, peer-to-peer forum for independent artists in the music industry.

MUSIC TALKS provides the vehicle for independent artists, songwriters, producers, studio owners, and musicians to come together and collectively discuss important music business & recording industry issues in a live environment. Creating a "Room Panel", MUSIC TALKS attendees vote on session topics, inter-exchange knowledge, offer information, and give advise and suggestions based on their real life experiences as independent artists. The mission is to cultivate the spirit of musical entrepreneurship.

Sessions are moderated by MUSIC TALKS founder and producer, David Knight, former producer of the New York Music & Internet Expo last held at Madison Square Garden in 2001. "Traditional expos are needed, but the on-going nature of MUSIC TALKS serves to build closer relationships among artists and most importantly gives the independent artist a voice of their own in the music industry", says David Knight.

The event, now only in its fourth monthly installment is gaining support and recognition from the indie community. Eugenie Cowan, Director of NYCMusicspaces.com says, "I was very pleased to be at Session 2 and really found it enlightening. A great strength was the mix of people so that someone always had useful advice to pass along. You are doing a great service to the music community, and I applaud you!"

Five Towns College of Music in Dix Hills, Long Island, NY is hosting a special edition of MUSIC TALKS "Live at Five Towns College" on April 24th, 2006. A diverse team of five indie artists will form a panel to address students and inform them about life on the independent music scene.

MUSIC TALKS SESSIONS is a six month two hour seasonal series running from January to June with special events, a newsletter and a pod cast scheduled from July to December. Sessions 4, 5, & 6 (April 30, May 20, June 24) will be held at TACT Studio at 900 Broadway at 19th Street in Manhattan from 1 to 3PM. MUSIC TALKS is FREE and open to all musical artists.
