The Rock Steady Crew (RSC), the premier Hip Hop group, is celebrating 30 years of breaking. For the 30th, the hip hop legendary b-boy and RSC President Crazy Legs and crew are planning some special additions and surprises for their 30th anniversary celebration. This will include the best b-boys and girls, DJ sets and training, art shows, panels, after parties and, of course, free concerts. Key hip hop events will be taking place in Manhattan, the Bronx and, as part of the 2nd Annual Lincoln Park Music Festival, Newark (a partial event list follows).

"After 30 years we're proud to say that we're still going strong," says Crazy Legs. "For the Anniversaries we want to focus on all aspects that make Hip Hop the social force that it is. This is about education and entertainment. With crew battles, hot DJs, panels and live graffiti shows our 30th promises to showcase everything Hip Hop represents."

As an official Red Bull Athlete, Richard "Crazy Legs" Colon has developed and produced enriching events that celebrate the B-Boy community and showcase the art form and lifestyle to a broader audience.

Founded in 1977, the Rock Steady Crew's annual anniversaries symbolize the preservation of the history and the evolution of Hip Hop Culture. The annual events serve to celebrate breaking and Hip Hop and give back to the community. This year's anniversary will include appearances from such innovative artists as Sway "MTV", Rob Swift, RSC Founder Joe Joe, Large Professor, Mr. Wiggles, Keith Murray, EPMD and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Grandmaster Mele Mel.

Frienemies

Frienemies about representing in the ciphers. Every b-boy and b-girl is on their own! No preset battles. In the early to mid 80's, breaking was at an all time high throughout the world. Crews were rolling thick and a lot of them got along. The only time they didn't get along was when it was time to battle in the club. Rock Steady Crew and New York City Breakers were going to Places like Negril, The Roxy, Kennedy High School and other places where jams were going down. No one was worried about hurting any ones feelings or concerned with battling their own friends with a fierce will to win. We were all "FRIENEMIES". 'Frienemies" is the place to battle that person that you chill with on a regular basis and show him that he's not as good as he brags about all the time.
